10:00am Pasirian Floorball Ladies vs RP Adroits 7 - 1 (LPQF2)
Pasirian Floorball Ladies romped to an easy 7-1 victory over RP Adroits in this opening fixture of the Pesta Sukan Floorball Cup 2005. They will now play defending champions Moosettesz in the quarter-finals next Saturday, and will certainly find the going much tougher. RP Adroits will have next season's league to look forward to.
12:00nn MS Floorball Youth vs Motorola Pink Flamingoes 1 - 3 (LPQF3)
Motorola Pink Flamingoes came out tops in this encounter against MS Floorball Youth, but only after a tough match. The Pink Flamingoes in their striking pink jerseys (except for one lost red flamingo using last year's jersey) made better use of their chances and were worthy winners. They will now face NUS Jupitans in the quarter-finals.
2:00pm SMU Foxes vs NUS Titans 1 - 15 (LPQF4)
NUS Titans recorded an impressive 15 - 1 victory over SMU Foxes to set up a tantalising quarter-final clash with MS OSB Owls. The experience of the NUS Titans team was way too much for the inexperienced SMU team, who were outfoxed in all departments for most of the match. Thumbs up though for their fighting spirit, and they deserved the joy of celebrating a consolation goal.
10:00am Tazsilian Piranha vs MS Floorball 2 - 5 (MPQF1)
This match witnessed the first upset of this season's Pesta Sukan Floorball Cup, with the heavily favoured Tazsilian Piranha going down to a surprising defeat to the unfancied MS Floorball team. MS Floorball brought back memories of its better days (Pesta Sukan Floorball Cup 2001 Champions and SFL2004 Runners-up) with a show of grit and determination, as well as strong defence. Veteran K R Vignesh showed enough flashes of brilliance to record a hattrick for MS Floorball, while Piranha had much difficulty breaking down the MS Floorball defence, with another veteran Pierre Boudville in goal. The Piranhas found out that old meat can be tough on their teeth, and it will instead be MS Floorball who will face defending champions SC Red Flamingoes in the quarter-finals.
12:00nn MS Innebandy vs Merahan Knights 12 - 4 (MPQF2)
MS Innebandy brushed aside the challenge of Merahan Knights in this clash between 2 young teams. MS Innebandy, with their wider experience, showed what Merahan Knights could be facing next season if they are promoted to Division 1. On this showing though Merahan Knights did enough to send signals that they will be quite competitive in Division 1 if given the chance. The new-look MS Innebandy team though showed that they are a force to reckon with. They have strengthened their force by taking on new key players from their brother MS OSB team. MS Innebandy will move on to face NUS Nemesis in the quarter-finals.
2:00pm NUS Saints vs MS OSB 5 - 2 (MPQF3)
NUS Saints took on a weakened MS OSB team, which fielded new players drafted in to replace key players who had left the team. NUS Saints took good advantage of this and recorded a well-deserved 5-2 victory. NUS Saints will meet Moosemen in the quarter-finals.
4:00pm Pasirian Floorball Men vs Genesis ITE 1 - 7 (MPQF4)
Pasirian Floorball Men started the match, unhappy that Genesis ITE were fielding 2 players who had played in Division 1earlier this season but had transferred to Genesis ITE to play in the Pesta Sukan Floorball Cup. In the end, one of these key players, Timothy Quek (formerly from Moosemen) was to prove pivotal as he slammed in 5 goals to lead Genesis ITE to a 7-1 victory. Genesis ITE will come face to face with SFL2005 champions Nhac Tre No.1 in the quarter-finals.
7:00pm FC Squirrettes vs United World College 2 - 5 (LPQF1)
UWC carved out an upset 5-2 win over a weak FC Squirrettes side and will now face NTU Tempest in the quarter-finals.
