QUARTER-FINALS

LADIES
Sat, 1 Apr 06

2pm   Moosettesz vs Millennia Skools Floorball Youth
Moosettesz went through the whole league phase with a perfect 100% win record, including an 8-0 victory over MS Floorball Youth. They are of course favourites again to repeat the victory, but MS Floorball Youth should be well-pleased with what they have achieved this season, with a young squad full of new players.
SFL2006 Result:  Moosettesz   8  Millennia Skools Floorball Youth  0  (14 Jan 06)

4pm    Millennia Skools OSB Owls vs Pasirian Scheqaz
Millennia Skools OSB Owls had an easy 10-1 win over Pasirian Scheqaz earlier in the season.  This time around, it may not be that easy, unless they can nullify the threat from the Malaysian ladies, who have scored most of their goals this season.  It won't be a walk in the park, but the Owls should eventually prevail.
SFL2006 Result:  Millennia Skools OSB Owls  10  Pasirian Scheqaz  1  (25 Feb 06)

6pm   Tampines East Titans vs NTU Tempest
This quarter-final clash will be a close affair.  Titans edged out Tempest 2-1 earlier in the season in a match that Tempest had the better chances.  Goalscoring has been Tempest's problem the whole season, but their defence has been quite solid.  It should point to a low-scoring win by the odd goal or two, but the result could go either way.
SFL2006 Result:  Tampines East Titans  2  NTU Tempest  1  (18 Feb 06)

8pm    NUS Jupitans vs Motorola Pink Flamingoes
NUS Jupitans may be the seeded team in this tie, but it was Flamingoes which came away with a narrow 4-3 win when they met earlier this season, and that should give them the psychological edge, since these 2 teams are indeed quite well-matched, with no clear favourites.  Jupitans' defence, with Lin Bin Bin in goal, will be the key to the result.
SFL2006 Result:  NUS Jupitans  3  Motorola Pink Flamingoes  4   (5 Feb 06)

MEN

Sun, 2 Apr 06

2pm    Nhac Tre No.1 vs Moosemen
With the onset of the transfer window period, some of the playoff teams, especially the men, may look quite different.  Moosemen displayed some of their new signings last week (Andrew Yong, Edmund Lee, Tay Joo Tat), but it didn't do them much good as they lost to Genesis ITE.    Nhac Tre No.1 also had some new faces and they will be further reinforced this week with transfer window signings of key players from MS Floorball.  Together with the return of Kristian Olsson and Niclas Erlandson, who both missed the 9-5 win over Moosemen earlier this season, Nhac Tre No.1 look like clear favourites to repeat that win and advance to the semi-finals.
SFL2006 Result:  Nhac Tre No.1  9  Moosemen  5  (19 Feb 06)

4pm    Millennia Skools Innebandy vs Genesis ITE
No significant changes for the Millennia Skools Innebandy team, but the Genesis ITE team will spot a vast difference, with new signings Hamizyam Samion (NUS Saints keeper) and Joseph Benjamin Cortes, Md Hadi Hassan Basri and Md Miryanto Amir  (Pasirian Hitmen) slotting in, as well as possibly key players from MS Salibandy.  The keeper position in Genesis ITE had been cited as a problem area, and this could now be resolved with the appearance of Zyam between the posts.  But can he do enough to stop the marauding Innebandy team, or will over-confidence seep into the Western Conference Champions' play.  Don't miss this very interesting match.

SFL2006 Result:  Millennia Skools Innebandy  7  Genesis ITE  4   (19 Feb 06)

6pm    NUS Nemesis vs Merahan Knights

NUS Nemesis beat Merahan Knights 5-0 in the earlier part of the season, but Knights have shown that they are a force to reckon with their form over the second half of the season, including last week's impressive 7-4 win over Moosemen.  NUS Nemesis will find it harder to penetrate Merahan Knights this time around, and also have to be wary of the Merahan Knights' quick breaks and lethal finishing.
SFL2006 Result:  NUS Nemesis  5  Merahan Knights  0  (22 Jan 06)

8pm    Motorola Red Flamingoes vs Pasirian Hitmen
This is the only Men's Quarter-Final with a clear favourite on the result.  Motorola Red Flamingoes have been impressive with their finishing in recent matches, and now have enough players to form at least 2 lines.  Pasirian Hitmen will be hit by the loss of key players Joseph Benjamin Cortes, Md Hadi Hassan Basri and Md Miryanto Amir, and a repeat pounding of the 13-2 defeat earlier this season is a distinct possibility.
SFL2006 Result:  Motorola Red Flamingoes  13  Pasirian Hitmen  2  (7 Jan 06)
