TEAM PREVIEWS
MEN'S DIVISION 1
GENESIS ITE  The promoted champions of Division 2, Genesis ITE will be considerably strengthened by the addition of Timothy Quek, as was seen in the Pesta Sukan.  However, with Timothy entering full-time national service in January, there may be a few matches that he will miss.  Genesis ITE should however be good enough for the play-offs.
KEY PLAYERS:  Timothy Quek, Justin Quek, Harjeet Singh, Kenny Tan, Benjamin Quek
MERAHAN KNIGHTS  The other promoted team from Division 2, Merahan Knights showed what they were capable of in the Pesta Sukan with a good performance against Millennia Skools Innebandy.  They work well as a team but the lack of experience and size may however be a big problem.  That said, Merahan Knights still have a good chance of squeezing into the play-offs.
KEY PLAYERS:  Nahendran, Cedrick Soh, Ahmad Fattah Salim, Jovyn Low
MILLENNIA SKOOLS FLOORBALL  The glory days of Millennia Skools Floorball are past and mostly forgotten.  Their last major honour was being the SFL2004 Runner-up.  Since then, the team has undergone major changes with only a few players remaining from those glory days.  MSF could squeeze into the play-offs if they get to a good start in the early stages of the season.
KEY PLAYERS:  K R Vignesh, Pierre Boudville, Tero Weckman, Juha Nevalainen
MILLENNIA SKOOLS INNEBANDY  After winning the Western Conference in 2004, the team disappointed last season by winning the relegation play-off to remain in Division 1.  They will want to make amends this year .  With a strong line-up that has gained experience from last year's poor season, the team will pose as one of the major contenders for the Western Conference.
KEY PLAYERS:  Abdul Khalique, Mohd Hafeez, Ahmad Afzal, Keith Tan, Mohd Shahmeer, M Rajiv
MILLENNIA SKOOLS SALIBANDY  Previously known as Millennia Skools OSB, they have now taken over the name of Millennia Skools Salibandy, which lost in the Division 2 semi-finals.  The 2 teams have actually merged.  However, the merged team lacks experience and will be fighting hard to avoid relegation.
KEY PLAYERS:  Mohd Taufiq Razali, H Handri
MOOSEMEN  The Western Conference defending champions, they will be again favourites to land the Western Conference title.  However, they will have to do that without last year's top scorer, Timothy Quek.  There are other dangerous scorers though in Joshua Brown and Lionel Sing.
KEY PLAYERS:  Joshua Brown, Lionel Sing, Arland Ang, Kelvin Koh, Eddie Tan
MOTOROLA RED FLAMINGOES  Previously known as Swiss Club Red Flamingoes, they are now known as Motorola Red Flamingoes.  They won the Eastern Conference in 2005 but lost in the SFL2005 Final to Nhac Tre No.1.  They will again vie for the Eastern Conference title with Nhac Tre No.1, with the youths to be given a bigger playing role this season.
KEY PLAYERS:  Filip Dahlgren, R Saravanan, Tan Yiru, G Sasitheran, Joakim Strom, Jesper Strom
NHAC TRE NO.1  The SFL2005 Champions, they will vie with Motorola Red Flamingoes for the Eastern Conference title.  The team remains unknown at the moment as some of the expatriates may have left Singapore.  Star player Kristian Olsson suffered a serious leg injury around July which may have hampered his play.  Without their key players in the Pesta Sukan, the team looked quite ordinary, and were easily defeated by Genesis ITE.
KEY PLAYERS:  Kristian Olsson, Niclas Erlandsson, Calvin Tan, Pasi Karjalainen, Ulf Niklasson
NUS NEMESIS  NUS Nemesis have always been strong contenders, and this season will be no different.  Most of the team have been playing together for a number of years, and as a result, they have developed quite a good understanding.  But with most of them no longer studying but entrenched in working life, they have spent less time training.  They should qualify for the play-offs quite easily.
KEY PLAYERS:  Sim How Chong,Kenneth Tan, Alvin Tay, Eugene Lim, Dennis Ang
NUS SAINTS  Comprising mostly first-year NUS undergraduates, the team has usually struggled against relegation.  However, they now have more new undergraduates with previous floorball experience so they could be a team to contend with this season.  Their usual hard-running and chasing style could see them in contention for a play-off place.
KEY PLAYERS:  Low Kiang Wei, Mohd Faizal
PASIRIAN HITMEN  Pasirian Hitmen, previously known as Pasirian Floorball, should have learnt a lot from their debut season in Division 1 in 2005, and should be better from the experience.  With less reliance on individual play and more emphasis on team play, the team should be able to outperform last year when they managed the play-offs.
KEY PLAYERS:  Muhd Hadi Hassan, Muhd Dzuerwan Sukar, Mohd Miryanto, Jarir Jumat, Joseph Benjamin Cortes
TAZSILIAN PIRANHA  Tazsilian Piranha had a good early season last year but faded towards the end of the season.  They also had a disastrous Pesta Sukan outing when they were upset by Millennia Skools Floorball.  With many players doing their full-time national service, it will be interesting to see how the team will cope this season.  They could struggle for a play-off place.
KEY PLAYERS:  Jatin Nair, Ranjit Nair, Herman Yusof, Johari Miswadi
