TEAMS PREVIEW
MEN'S DIVISION 1
MERAHANS KNIGHTS: Merahans Knights were the surprise package from last year, doing extremely well to qualify for the play-offs, where they were knocked out on a penalty shootout in the quarter-finals.  They should be better this season from the valuable experience gained from last year.  Quite a number of the players also played for the Singapore Youth team in the recent APAC 2006.  They are also rumoured to have recruited Timothy and Benjamin Quek into their ranks, which should greatly increase their firepower.  Timothy  also played for Merahans in last season's Pesta Sukan Under-19 tournament.  They should have another good season, and should finish among the top 6.
KEY PLAYERS: Leow Darui, A Nahendran, Jovyn Low, A Fattah Salim, Timothy Quek, Justin Quek, Goh Bing Lu
MOOSEMEN: Moosemen combined with some players from Motorola Red Flamingoes and took the Pesta Sukan title last season.  With some of these players now staying on with Moosemen as well as several other notable transfers, they look to be a formidable side, capable of regaining their glory years.  They will be one of the favourites to take the tile this season.
KEY PLAYERS: Eddie Tan, Kelvin Koh, Filip Dahlgren, Lionel Sing, Joshua Leroy Brown, Alex Tavs, Marc Swiss
MOTOROLA RED FLAMINGOES: The makeup of this year's MRF team is still quite hazy.  Most of the players will comprise those who played for Motorola Red Juniors last season in Division 2.  Some of the Flamingoes from last season will remain in the team, but have lost some key players, including Filip Dahlgren and R Saravanan.  They should still  be a force to reckon with this season, but are not expected to win the title with so many inexperienced youngsters.  But give them a year or so, and they should be challenging the top teams.
KEY PLAYERS: Muhd Sabri Yuhari, Tan Yiru, Johnson Sivalingam, Jenmark Sorreda, Cheong Baoren DJ, Enrico Marican, Oswind Suriva Rosayro
NHAC TRE NO.1: As always, the composition of the Nhac Tre No.1 team is a mystery at the start of the season, as some of the players receive job postings out of Singapore, or return home.  Nevertheless, they have always proven to be top contenders, and have indeed taken the last 2 SFL titles.  The new format without the play-offs will be a challenging one for Nhac Tre No.1, as they will have to run on all cylinders from the start of the season, especially with key matches against top contenders in the first 4 weeks of the season.
KEY PLAYERS: Kristian Olsson, Tan Cheen Ming, Calvin Tan, Pasi Karjalainen, Santeri Rantala, Niko Niemenen
NTU HURRICANE: NTU Hurricane dominated the Division 2 last season, but lost out in the Final to TP Wolves on one of their off days.  They should be able to do well in their first season back in Division 1, especially with home ground advantage for quite a number of their matches.  A key ingredient for their recipe for success would be the quality of exchange student players they may have in their ranks this year.
KEY PLAYERS: Magnus Karlsson, Low Kien Teck, Edwin Ker, Kevin Teo, Irfan Samat
NUS NEMESIS: NUS Nemesis will again be one of the contenders for the SFL2007 title.  Most of the players have played together for a number of years, and they also have a steady stream of new players to replace  those who may have left, providing a stable hardworking team, with ultra-fit players, running opponents to the ground.
KEY PLAYERS: Sim How Chong, Kenneth Tan, Chua Si Wei, Benjamin Ang, Neo Wen Ho, Alvin Tay, Dennis Ang
PASIRIAN HITMEN: With key player, M Hadi Hassan Basri back in their ranks, Pasirian Hitmen should be able to have a good season with lots of flair and excitement from their young players.  They are unlikely to be title contenders, but should give many teams plenty of problems.
KEY PLAYERS: M Hadi Hassan Basri, Md Dzuerwan Sukar,  Abdul Hafiz, M Syazni, M Hanief, M Faris, Md Miryanto
RP SALIBANDY: RP Salibandy took their spot in Divison 1 with a 6-1 win over Tampines East Knights in the play-off to decide which team would take over Genesis ITE, which decided to sit out the League this season.  The RP Salibandy team is made up of hardworking players who combine well as a team, but with few outstanding individuals.  Most of their players are from the previous MS Salibandy teams and the RP SalsaZ team.
KEY PLAYERS: Melvin Tng, Muhd Hisyam Ismail, Md Faiz, Md Hafiz Ridhwan, Md Shamir Alfee, Vernon Ng
SKOOLS FLOORBALL: With the departure of so many key players like KR Vignesh, Tero Weckman, Chau Lam and Pierre Boudville, Skools Floorball have rebuilt its team with new players.  It should be interesting to see if their blend of old and new, as well as their  bunch of foreign imports, can rise to the challenge of the new season.
KEY PLAYERS: Juha Nevalainen, Edmund Lee Tong,  M Arizal, Daniel Wee, Prom Monisophal, Kenneth Koh
SKOOLS INNEBANDY: One of the hot favourites for the title, the new format without the playoffs should suit Skools Innebandy, as they have enough quality players in their team to put up a strong line-up throughout the season.  With players who make up a large chunk of the Singapore national team set-up (8 in APAC2006), Skools Innebandy will probably vie with Moosemen and Nhac Tre No.1 for the title.
KEY PLAYERS: M Hafeez, Ahmad Afzal, M Rajiv, Keith Tan, M Shahmeer, Mark Seow, Jasawirda Wahid, Brandon Cheong, Abdul Khalique, Azmy Rizman Ali
TEAM TAZ: Team Taz have rebuilt themselves by getting back some of the old players from its past glory days.  With a stronger team line-up now, they will be one of the key players in the title race, as they will be capable of taking points off the strong teams.
KEY PLAYERS: R Saravanan, Harjeet Singh, Paramjit Singh, Harvinder Singh, Jatin Nair
TP WOLVES: TP Wolves gained promotion to Division 1 as Division 2 champions, and were also losing finalists in the Pesta Sukan Cup.  They did this with the key contribution of their Finnish star Santeri Rantala, who is rumoured to be playing elsewhere.  Going by the recent POL-ITE Games, TP did reasonably well without his services, but whether TP Wolves can do it in Division 1 is a big question.  Could be fighting against relegation.
KEY PLAYERS: Douglas Chan, Gideon Chew, Max Ho, Leung Ka Tic, Omar Nasir
