10:00am NUS Nemesis vs Nhac Tre
This opening match of the SFL2008 season is probably the pick of the opening day matches. Nhac Tre are however not the powerhouse that they used to be, and with the absence this year of key all-star players Kristian Olsson, Pasi Karjalainen and Tan Cheen Ming, it will be hard for them to reclaim the title they lost last season. They are however strengthened in defence by the experienced Jayakumar Singaram. NUS Nemesis will as usual pose a threat to any team and they will hope to start this season off better than last year when they lost their opening 3 matches. Nemesis will be favoured to win this match.

12:00nn Skools Innebandy vs NTU Hurricanes
Skools Innebandy, strengthened this season by 3 key players Justin Quek, Pasi Karjalainen and Santeri Rantala, will be one of the favourites for the Division 1 crown. They look to have an easy opening fixture against NTU Hurricanes, who struggled for a large part of last season. Skools Innebandy should win comfortably.

2:00pm Moosemen vs NUS Saints
Defending champions Moosemen take on newly-promoted NUS Saints in what should be an easy opening win for the revamped Moosemen. NUS Saints will no doubt do a lot of willing chasing, but Moosemen should prevail quite easily.

4:00pm Merahans vs RP Salibandy
Merahans take on RP Salibandy in what should be an even match. Merahans will have several ex-Team Taz players on their books. RP Salibandy struggled last year but improved towards the end of the season., and would have learnt much from the experience. This should be a close match but RP Salibandy could just nick it.

6:00pm Blacks FC vs Z-Athletica Red Flamingoes
Blacks FC has done well to make it to Division 1 via the play-off. Against the Pesta Sukan champions Z-Athletica Red Flamingoes in their debut Division 1 match, it will be tough going. Flamingoes will surely strut their stuff, but Blacks will be back better for the experience.

8:00pm Pasirian Hitmen vs Singapore School Boys
The battle of the young kids will take place at the close of the opening match day with Pasirian Hitmen taking on the new-look Singapore School Boys. Pasirian Hitmen, with the addition of keeper Juha Nevalainen, should be way too strong for Singapore School Boys, who may struggle to find their feet in Division 1.
